Body Worn Video Steering Group
PC Fay Washington of Sutton Police has recently been recognised for her outstanding work in pioneering the use of body worn cameras. She has been named as a runner up in the outstanding individual category of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Excellence in Policing Awards.
Police Oracle reports that “more and more forces are turning to body worn cameras to save officers time and improve the quality of information they collect”.
The BWVSG meeting yesterday saw the highest number of organisations ever represented at an event.
Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime Stephen Greenhalgh has appeared on the BBC to talk about the announced MET body worn video initiative: “I would describe this as a pilot, the world’s largest pilot of a technology that shows a lot of promise.
